At Westmorland Sheepskins sustainability isn't just a buzzword – it's a way of life. We're constantly striving to minimise our environmental footprint and prioritise eco-conscious practices in every aspect of our business. Here's a glimpse into the steps we're taking to move towards a more sustainable future:

Thoughtful Packaging: We believe in making every detail count, starting with our packaging. All our slippers are carefully packaged in cotton mesh bags, offering versatility beyond their initial use. From grocery shopping to toy storage, these bags serve multiple purposes while reducing single-use plastic waste. Additionally, our orders are dispatched in paper bags made from the same material as potato sacks, ensuring they're recyclable and environmentally friendly. 

Utilising Sheepskin: Sheepskin is a valuable by-product of the meat industry. By using sheepskin, we're not only creating beautiful products but also diverting waste from landfills and reducing our carbon impact. 

Waste Less Collection: Our commitment to sustainability extends to our Waste Less Collection. We repurpose offcuts of sheepskin into a variety of items such as rugs, cushions, door stops, and more. Even the tiniest scraps find purpose as the filling in draft excluders and door stops, ensuring minimal waste throughout our production process. 

Collaborative Efforts: We're dedicated to working closely with our manufacturers to minimize packaging waste. For instance, our sheepskin insoles used to arrive in individual plastic bags, but through collaboration, we've transitioned to a more sustainable packaging solution, reducing plastic usage significantly by having them delivered all in one box. 

Recycling Initiatives: Sustainability isn't just an external effort – it starts within our workspace. We prioritise recycling within our office, ensuring that materials are reused or repurposed whenever possible. 

In our journey towards sustainability, every small step counts. By embracing eco-friendly practices and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship, we're committed to making a positive impact on the planet.
