Walter is formed from sumptuous Spanish merino finished in sustainable cork, handcrafted by our partners of skilled craftspeople in Southwest Europe. The Cuff can be worn two ways, either up or folded over with the hair on the outside, depending on your style or how you feel.
The Walter Cork Edit focusses on Cork, a natural product that is sustainable, environmentally friendly, carbon positive, biodegradable and renewable. It also helps promote biodiversity and important ecological processes while the plantations support local communities. All of which helped influence our decision to use cork instead of synthetic alternatives alongside Sheepskin.
Walter was Dom's Grandfather who was a cook for the soldiers in World War II. He used to take her to feed the ducks, made the best Welsh rarebit and always gave her the cream from the top of the milk on her porridge. He married Veronica during the war and she returned to the UK with him from her home in Italy.
Merino Sheepskin has very fine fibres, meaning that it is very warm and offers greater protection than other sheep’s wool. Find out more about the qualities of Sheepskin.

For occasional cleaning of suede, it is best to do this by hand using cold or warm (not hot) water. Use a damp cloth or sponge with a very mild hand washing detergent (non-bio) that is suitable for washing wool (like the Little Beau Sheep wool wash). For more stubborn stains, gently rub with a damp light nail brush, working in a circular motion and being careful not to rub too hard as this will damage the suede.
Drying the slippers should be done as naturally as possible, letting them dry at normal room temperature, avoiding radiators and direct sunlight. P.S. the best way for the slippers to hold their shape after washing is to place some paper inside them.
